BBM for iOS and Android

Blackberry Messenger (BBM) popular IM application on Blackberry is ready to release it’s iOS and Android version. BlackBerry Messenger or BBM as it is commonly known was one of the first mainstream instant-messaging services on smartphones. The app comes preloaded onto BlackBerry devices allowing users to call, text, video chat and share screens with other BlackBerry users via 3G and free over Wi-Fi.

BlackBerry submitted BBM for iOS to Apple for review two weeks ago but is still waiting for App Store approval, according to Alex Kinsella, Senior Strategic Account Manager at BlackBerry. It’s unclear why Apple has delayed approving the BBM app. Current approval times are at about 4 days, according to Shiny Development’s tracker.

BBM for Android

Despite no official release date for Android or iOS devices, pictures and videos have also started to pop up around the web showcasing a beta version of BBM on handsets. The app is expected to have many of the features that are on BlackBerry devices. This includes the ability to send text and voice messages. Below is a demo from
