Hi,
I had an AT&T R225 GoPhone that I just cannot unlock. Tried all the instructions at least 10 times each
What happens is that the phone says something like “Code Accepted” and then shuts itself down.
Can anyone help?

The phone is unlocked. However, the AT&T R225 only works on 850/1900mhz. If you are in Europe it will not work as Europe and Asia use a different frequency of 900/1800mhz. You need a phone that supports 900/1800mhz.

Hello mick,I checked from various places on web and blog and confirmed that R 225 is designed for 850/1900 and In India we have 900/1800 mhz. Is there any way to change the frequency? meaning by changing hardware or anything else? Is any technocrate has a solution?-Thanks.

Worked for me – in fact, I just entered ###825*09# without a SIM in it and when I turned it back on with the SIM it connected to Rogers!

it shows code accepted.I could unlock it.But when sim was inseted it does not recognise any network. I need to use it in India.Can you pl.guide and give complete procedure so i can start using it by any telcos sim card-like BSNL,TATA,AIRTEL,VODAFONE etc.Thanks in advance.

I just followed the instructions found on this site and I got a message that the password is accepted but it fails to find some available network. I would like to use this device in Israel. Can it be something else with my settings I have to change?

I have followed all the instructions to unlock ZTE R225, The phone was unlocked but not able to register to the network. After unlocking when I try to connect to network using Airtel(India) network, the error pops as “failed to register to network”. Please add some solution to activate the network?

There may be a hardware and software update require. I did not check R225; but commonly RF filters and few network components has to be changed in order to work with different band. Also a software update require.
Is it worth spending time on R225 to change components? Let’s check.

Yaa,good nailing.gr8 solution. Can any one has done this sucessfully? Can give the names of componenets to be used and name of softaware to be updated along with its download site? Or can we add two more bands 900/1800 and make it quad band?900/1800 mhz is freequencies used in India. – Thanks.
